Keep
America Beautiful recognizes Holterhoff for years of service during
51st Annual National Conference in Washington, D.C. (CINCINNATI - OHIO) - Keep America Beautiful, Inc. President G. Raymond Empson presented the
Professional Leadership Award to Linda Holterhoff, Executive
Director of Keep Cincinnati Beautiful during Keep America
Beautiful's 51st Annual National Conference in
Washington, D.C. The
Professional Leadership Award is the highest professional
honor given by Keep America Beautiful. As
Keep Cincinnati Beautiful's Executive Director for 15 years,
Holterhoff's contributions to Keep America Beautiful and her
own affiliate are innumerable. In 1988 and 1989, she designed
and oversaw the curbside recycling program in Cincinnati. She
also began a paint-recycling program that was so successful it
spun off into a separate nonprofit organization, Nu-Blend
Paint. The very successful "Don't Trash the Nati" public service advertising campaign has a wide recognition in Cincinnati. Ms. Holterhoff also implemented the "This is Litter Too!" campaign, which reminds people that cigarette butts are litter too. The "This is Litter Too"! campaign is to be launched nation-wide by Keep America Beautiful in the up coming year. In addition to Holterhoff winning the Professional Leadership Award, Keep Cincinnati Beautiful was awarded First Place as the number one affiliate in the nation. Keep Cincinnati Beautiful was also awarded $5,000 for the Keep America Beautiful/Anheuser-Busch Environmental Grant, and First Place in the Fuji film Awards Program. Keep Cincinnati Beautiful is a not-for-profit organization promoting litter prevention, recycling and community improvement and beautification through citizen action, education, and strategic partnerships in the Greater Cincinnati area. |
